What is UPF?

Ultraviolet Protection Factor, or most commonly known as UPF, for short, is a specialized system designed to measure the effectiveness of sun-protective fabrics. It measures the amount of light that penetrated the fabric. The higher the UPF number, the better protection it provides for your skin.

So, why is UPF protection so important?

  • Consistent coverage: While sunscreen do provide protection from the sun, it can be rather fickle as we might miss a port or forgot to reapply. UPF clothing provides constant and uniform protection as long as you wear it.
  • Blocks UV rays: UPF clothing protects your skin for sunburns and skin damage caused by the UV rays
